Mary Joan Keith, 82, of Leonard, MO, died Tuesday, October 28, 2008, at the Loch Haven Nursing Home in Macon.
She was born on May 18, 1926, in Leonard, MO, the daughter of Otis Worthy and Bernice Ellen (Perry) Mahoney. On August 4, 1945, she was united in marriage to George Kenneth Keith in Kansas City, MO. He survives.
Mary Jo is survived by four children, Danny Keith and wife, Pat, of Unionville, MO; Kenneth Keith and wife, Neva, of Cainsville, MO; Nona Troyer and husband, Todd, of Columbia, MO; and Nita Coale and husband, Michael, of Macon, MO; ten grandchildren, Curt Snow, Brett Snow, Ronee Keith, Justin Keith, Kineta Keith, Kerre Keith, Brian Coale, April Coale, Christian Coale and Madison Coale; three great-grandchildren, Carleigh and Cullen Mahoney Snow and Whitney Snow; two sisters, Laura Jean Rainey of Huntsville, MO, and Elizabeth Runyon and husband, Leon, of Leonard, MO; one brother, Ed Mahoney and wife, Gertrude, of Leonard, MO.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Mary Jo was a member of the Berea Christian Church, southeast of Leonard. She was a 1943 graduate of Leonard High School. Mary enjoyed the farm, especially horses and cattle, sewing, quilting, and her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, October 29, 2008 at the Greening-Eagan-Hayes Funeral Home in Shelbina, MO. Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, October 30, 2008 at the Leonard Christian Church. Justin Keith, Minister, officiated the services. Burial was in Cherry Box Cemetery.
