Brenda Kay (Strange) Berhorst, 51, of Greentop, Missouri, died Monday (September 1, 2008) at Northeast Regional Medical Center in Kirksville.
Born September 29, 1956 in Kirksville, Missouri, Brenda was the daughter of Alfred and Willa Belle (Kessler) Strange. Brenda was united in marriage to Lee Anthony Berhorst.
Brenda is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Kevin and Kim Berhorst of Greentop, MO; one daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Leroy Parrish of Greentop, MO; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Larry Joe and Debbie Strange of Knox City, MO and Elvin Ray Strange of Emden, MO; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Norma and J.T. Doss of Baring, MO and Lila Bunte of Valdosta, GA, as well as five very adored grandchildren, Kerri, Jeremy and Hannah Shoemaker and Christopher and Kesler Parrish and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two infant brothers, Carl Gene and Gary Lee Strange.
Brenda received her education in Knox County. She worked for Motorola in Quincy, Illinois before moving back to Knox County where she was then employed eleven years with the Knox County Nursing Home. In 1991, Brenda moved to Greentop, Missouri, and for sixteen years was employed by Ortec.
Brenda enjoyed crafts, collecting Boyd’s Bears, cooking and making wedding cakes. She had a great love for her grandchildren and always enjoyed her family get togethers.
It was Brenda’s wish to be cremated and the family will hold a public picnic in her honor, 4:00 p.m., Saturday (September 6, 2008) at the Greentop Park in Greentop.
