MAXINE LUCILLE BARTZ

Maxine Lucille Bartz, age 79, of LaBelle, Missouri died Tuesday, June 24, 2008 in the LaBelle Manor Care Center.
Born September 20, 1928 in Albert Lea, Minnesota, she was the daughter of Ellis Wilson and Beulah Marie Holdren Spann.
October 1, 1955 in Pittsfield, Illinois, she married William “Bill” Bartz and he survives.
Maxine attended school in Pittsfield, Illinois, was a member of the First Christian Church of LaBelle, a past member of LaBelle Chapter # 316 Order of the Eastern Star and was employed at the LaBelle Manor Care Center for eighteen years.
She was an avid “Elvis” fan, loved cooking, especially preparing big family dinners, enjoyed going to the gambling boat, traveling and being with her family.
Surviving are her husband of 52 years, Bill Bartz of LaBelle; one stepdaughter, Rose Sparks and husband, Steve of Ewing, Missouri; two brothers, Lyle Spann and Wilbur Spann, both of Pittsfield, Illinois; four sisters, Florine Melford of Pittsfield, Illinois, Bessie Martin of Kahoka, Missouri, Mickie Hall of Savannah, Tennessee and Donna Whitlock of Griggsville, Illinois. Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews, including nephew, Benny Kaylor, who was raised in the home.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Donald and Gary Wayne Spann and one sister, Carolina Cawthorn.
Funeral services were at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, June 28, 2008 in the Coder Funeral Chapel with Pastor Joe Jorgenson officiating. Burial was in the Maywood, Missouri cemetery.
Visitation was Friday 4-8 p.m. on June 27, 2008 in the Coder Chapel with family greeting friends from 6-8 p.m.
