Clark County voters will head the polls next Tuesday, April 8, for the general municipal election.
Kahoka voters won’t have much of a decision to make, and East Ward Alderman Curtis Mack and West Ward Alderman Larry Young are each unopposed on the ballot.
In Alexandria, Robert Davis in unopposed for Mayor, as is Joan Peters for City Clerk.
Barbara Colwell is alone on the ballot for Ward 1, and Harold Peters is on the ballot for Ward 2.
In Wayland’s West Ward, Joni Gorman is facing a challenge from Linda Hill Booth. Tim Severin is unopposed for the West Ward Alderman .
In the Wayland Special Road District, John Campbell, Bruce Spurgeon and Ronald Duck Gates are all vying for one seat on the board.
In Wyaconda, Jimmie Hooper is unchallenged in the East Ward, and there is no one on the ballot in the West Ward.
The Village of Luray has four contenders for three Trustee positions. They are Vernon Hopp, Robert J. Smith, Gary Brown and Chris Moeller.
In Revere, Adam Davis is unchallenged for Mayor, and Jeffery Smith and Dale Clark are on the ballot to fill two aldermen positions.
The Clark County Ambulance District #3 has no one on the ballot, and in District 5, Phillip Hall and Roxanna Inman are vying for one seat.
Clark County is seeking to extend its existing ½ cent sales tax for improving county roads for four more years.
Several important school-related issues will be on the ballots across the county.
In Wyaconda, voters are being asked to approve annexation of the Wyaconda C-1 District into the Gorin R-III district.
Both Revere and CCR-1 voters are being asked to approve a school district boundary change which would move some of County Road 79 in Sweet Home Township into the CCR-1 district.
In Luray, four candidates are seeking a three year seat on the District 33 school board. They are Lesley D. Yoder, Cory Wagers, Gary A. Boatman and Erin K. March.
Lonnie Sommers and Rebecca J. Burr are seeking to fill an unexpired one-year term, and Amber Cordray Moeller and Beverly Yates are seeking to fill an unexpired two year term.
In the CCR-1 District, four candidates are seeking three seats. They are: Kristy Nixon Lovell, Brad Sprague, Kevin Ross and Ruth Brotherton.
The polls will be open from 6:00 AM until 7:00 PM next Tuesday, April 8.
