McCaskill Statement on Missouri Flooding
WASHINGTON, D.C. – With hundreds of Missourians displaced due to flooding and with the water continuing to rise, U.S. Senator Claire McCaskill today issued the following statement:
“My prayers go out to the families of those who have lost loved ones in the tragic floods that have plagued the country these past several days. I urge the federal government and the state of Missouri to continue to aid displaced Missouri residents and help prevent further loss and damage. Just this past Tuesday I was in Cape Girardeau meeting with the Mayor and City Manager and was briefed on the proactive approach they had taken in contacting the Governor to request assistance from the National Guard. While aid efforts continue, families in affected areas should get to higher ground, not take unnecessary risks, and help look out for their neighbors.”
