Indians Loose Heartbreaker

The Clark County Indians matched up with the Palmyra Panthers in Kahoka. The Indians looked good as they came out behind Ethan Allen’s 6 points to take the opening quarter 14-10.
The Indians did not slow down in the second they just turned things over to someone else as Colt Sommers added that 6 points. Bryan Plenge hit a three, Michael Brennan added 2 and again the Indians took the quarter 11-10 to hold a 25-20 halftime lead behind Ethan Allen and Colt Sommers 6 points each.
The third quarter saw the Indians hold on to their team play as 4 Indians hit the scoring column led by Michael Brennan’s 5 points and Colt Sommers 4 as the Indians again took the quarter by one point 12-11 to take a 37-31 lead into the final quarter.
The battle began in the final eight. The Indians were looking to hold the Panthers Jonathan Nutt to low numbers. Ethan Allen put up 6, Javis Vineyard added a 3, Bryan Plenge had 4, Colt Sommers and Scot McAfee had 2 with 9.7 seconds left in the game the Indians up 54-51 the Panthers taking the ball out under the Indians basket Palmyra inbounded the ball to Nutt who brought the ball across half court and buried a downtown three to tie the game at 54-54.
In overtime the Panthers hit 3 free throws out of 4 and the Indians hit 2 of 4 and fell to Palmyra 57-56.
The Indians hit 4 of 12 free throws in the fourth quarter and Palmyra hit 6 of 8.
The Indians were led in scoring by Colt Sommers with 13 followed by Ethan Allen with 12, Michael Brennan added 9 but Michael fouled out with over 3 minutes left in the fourth quarter, so he sat for over 7 minutes, Bryan Plenge also added 9, Lynn Williams had 5, Javis Vineyard added 6 and Scott McAfee had 2.
The Indians are now 5-4 on the season.
