MARGARET FERN CLARK
On January 7, 2008, Margaret “Fern” Clark was welcomed into the presence of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ where she rejoined her husband Ralph E. Clark, her parents Fred E and Ola Turner Brookhart, sister Thelma Welker Seefried and many other friends and loved ones.
She was born near Kenton, OK but in early childhood came to Clark County, MO where she resided 87 years. She attended school at Ballard and graduated from Kahoka High School. She took classes at Culver Stockton College and prior to marriage taught school in Clark County. She partnered with her husband on their family farm until their retirement in 1976. She managed the farm following Ralph’s death in 1983. A good cook, she is particularly remembered for her delicious cinnamon rolls.
Prior to moving to Texas in 2001, she was a member of the Extension Club and maintained her membership in PEO until this time. She has been a member of First Baptist Church of Kahoka for the past 75 years. She taught an adult Sunday School there for many years.
Mrs. Clark, a resident of College Station, TX is survived by her children, Neva and Ted Mohr of College Station, TX Station and Kenneth and Margaret Clark of Quincy, IL. Five grandchildren Rhonda Brinck of Ft. Madison, IA, Beverly Schoonover of Liberty, IL as well as Patricia Colwell, Michelle Steedly and Cheryl Murski all of Brazos County, TX regret her departure. Eleven great grandchildren also survive her.
A memorial service will be held at First Baptist Church in Kahoka on January 18 at 10:30 A.M. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church Building Fund.
