Alice L. Baker

   Alice Leona Baker, age 91, of Mount Vernon, Missouri, formerly of Knox City, Missouri, died Thursday, December 27, 2007, in the Lawrence County Manor in Mount Vernon, Missouri.

   She was born in Quincy, Illinois October 2, 1916. The daughter of Robert Nelson and Sophia Leona Nations Snyder.

   She was united in marriage to Emer Bane Baker on October 6, 1934, in Quincy, Illinois and he preceded her in death January 20, 1987.

   She was also preceded in death by her parents, one son Frank Baker, one daughter Cindy Cramer, one grandson, Danny Cramer, one brother Dick Snyder, two sisters Dolly Davis and Hank Wright, and one great grandson Cody Baker.

   Surviving are two children, Karen Dyer of Quincy, Illinois and Harley Baker of Miller, Missouri, four grandchildren, Bruce and Brian Dyer of Quincy, Illinois, Curtis Baker of Lebanon, Missouri and Mike Baker of Astoria, Kansas, several nieces, nephews and cousins.

   Mrs. Baker was raised in Illinois where she received her education.  She was employed for 20 years at Motorola in Quincy, Illinois and employed for 10 years in family home care in Quincy, Illinois till her retirement.   Since 1990 she has resided in Miller, Missouri.

   She was a member of the Assembly of God Church in Quincy, Illinois.

   Graveside services were held 10 a.m. Saturday, December 29, 2007 at the Knox City Cemetery under the direction of the Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home. The Reverend Doug Wilson officiated the services.
