Lucille B. Parrish
Lucille Beatrice Parrish, age 89, of Edina, Missouri, died Thursday, December 13, 2007, in the Knox County Nursing Home in Edina, Missouri.
She was born March 28, 1918, at Wilmathsville, Missouri the daughter of Thomas A. and Lizzie Ethel Bailey Lay.
On March 4, 1945, at Hannibal, Missouri she was united in marriage to Gilbert L. Parrish and he preceded her in death on February 15, 1971.
She was also preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Audrey and Frank Lay and one sister Hazel Nitschky.
Surviving are one son, Richard Parrish of Edina, Missouri, and several nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews.
Lucille received her education in Knox County rural schools. She was a housewife and homemaker. She was employed for several years at the Burnham Glove Factory in Edina, Missouri and Motorola in Quincy, Illinois.
She enjoyed painting portraits, cooking and gardening. Lucille was a member of the Knox City Christian Church.
Lucille’s wishes were to be cremated. Memorial services were held 2 p.m. Sunday, December 16, 2007, at the Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home in Edina, Missouri. The Reverend Dewayne Wellborn officiated the services. Burial will be at a later date in the Knox City Cemetery.
