Lady Indians Fall in Opener

Lady Indians Fall in Opener

By Herb Butler

The Clark County Lady Indians opened with their 2007-08 season at Palmyra on Tuesday, November 20 and things did not turn out well as the Lady Panthers came to play.

The opening quarter saw Palmyra come out in a zone defense against Clark County and the Lady Indians struggled, as Palmyra outscored the Lady Indians 10-5.

Kassidy Shuman had 3 points while Daryle Goldie picked up 2 quick fouls and had to sit.

The second quarter was no better for the Lady Indians as Palmyra added 12 to their total as Clark could only put up 7 and trailed the Lady Panthers 22-12. Daryle Goldie picked up her third foul in the second quarter. Megan Wilson came off the bench and led the Lady Indians with 4 points.

The Lady Panthers came out the third quarter still in their zone defense. If Clark County was to win this game they were to shoot from the outside and Palmyra was not going to let that happen.

In the third quarter again saw Palmyra outscore the Lady Indians 12-9. Kassidy Shuman led the way with 3 points and after three quarters trailed 34-21.

The fourth quarter was the largest spread of the game as Palmyra outscored Clark County 15-6 to claim the victory of 49-27.

The Lady Indians were led in scoring by Kassidy Shuman with 8, Megan Wilson off the bench added 6, Daryle Goldie saw limited time had 4, Amanda Winters added 3 while Brittany Logsdon, Brooke Wheeler, and Britni Bertelli had 2 each.
