Toni Schmitz, 50, of Levitown PA, passed away at her home Oct. 26, 2007. She was born on Dec. 14, 1956 in Keokuk IA.
Toni was a member of the Salvation Army Church in Levitown, PA. She was a foster parent to many children. She worked as a certified nurse’s aid for several years. She was also actively involved with Special Olympics, church youth groups and numerous other activities that raised funds for children with cancer and special needs.
Toni is survived by her husband, James Schmitz. Her five children Luis, Casey, Precious, April and Selena. Two foster daughters Gina and Karen Galendez and a foster granddaughter Selena Galendez, all of Levittown, Pennsylvania. A brother Gene Rubemeyer and wife Kathy of Carlinville IL. Two sisters Mona Carlton and her husband Randy of Hamilton IL and Dixie Bush and Dave of Keokuk IA. Her father-in-law, James Schmitz and wife Betty of Wyaconda MO, three brother-in-laws David Schmitz and wife Donna of Wyaconda MO, Tim Schmitz and wife Susan of Dallas TX, Dustin Shuman of Shelbina MO and 4 sister–in-laws, Linda Yates and husband Gene of Revere MO, Debra Beeler and husband Dan of Sutter IL, Kay Gates and husband Steve of Kahoka MO and Rhonda St. Clair and husband Tim of Kahoka MO. Twelve nephews, 10 nieces, 14 great nephews, 8 great nieces, 13 great great nephews and 5 great great nieces.
She was preceded in death by her parents Earl Rubemeyer, Mary Rubemeyer Beatty, a stepfather, Charles Beatty and three nephews Rodney (Hot Rod) Powell, Matt Wilson and Randy Yates.
A Memorial Service was held on Monday, October 29, 2007, in Levittown, Pennsylvania.
