A former Kahoka police officer. Larry J. Uhlmeyer, was involved in a shooting at his residence in Marion County on Sunday morning. Uhlmeyer was also Marion County Deputy until April 2007.
According to a press release from Capt. James Shinn of the Marion County Sheriff’s Department, the department was called at about 7:07 AM about a subject in the garage of 6540 Highway 6. While deputies were enroute, the resident called again and advised the subject had been shot.
Deputies recovered a weapon and secured the scene for processing. An individual from Knox County was found nearby with what appeared to be gunshot wounds, and was air lifted to Blessing Hospital in critical condition. No information has been released on the subject.
Due to Uhlmeyer’s past employment with Marion County, the investigation has been turned over to the Missouri Staet Highway Patrol.
