Traffic change to new Northbound Lanes on Route 61 in Clark County this Week
HANNIBAL – Pending good weather, MoDOT and its contractor, Chester Bross Construction Company, plan to change traffic to the new northbound lanes of Route 61 just south of Wayland on Friday, September 28. Immediately following this opening, construction crews will close the old lanes of Route 61 for rehabilitation, which will be the future southbound lanes.
Two-way traffic will remain on the new lanes until the work has been completed in 2008. Changeable message signs will be placed in the area prior to the closing to make motorists aware of this change.
Motorists are encouraged to use caution in and around the work zones, and obey all posted construction signing and speed limits. If you have questions about this project or other transportation issues in your area, please call MoDOT’s Customer Service Center toll free at 1-888 ASK MODOT (275-6636) during normal business hours or visit the project website at www.modot.org/northeast.
