The Keokuk Community Fine ARts Council will present a free concert by the chamber group, Trio Con Brio, on Sunday, September 9, at 3 p.m. in the First Lutheran Church at 11th and Blondeau Streets.
Performers ion the trio are Leonora Suppan-Gehrich, piano, Brian Gehrich, violin, and Helga Winold, cello. Mrs. Supan-Gehrich is an artist in residence at Quincy University and spends several months each summer playing solo recitals in Austria. Mr. Gehrich is the assistant concertmaster of the Peoria Symphony Orchestra and the Illinois Chamber Orchestra. He has also been the concertmaster for the Muddy River Opera Company in Quincy for the past 11 years. He is in charge of violin instruction at the Suzuki Violin School of the Sun Foundation in Peoria, as well as having his own private studios. Mrs. Winold is a Pprofessor of Music at Indiana University. Her students hold important positions as performers and teachers throughout the world.
The program they have selected to play in Keokuk includes Variations on a Theme of Rossini by Martinu, the Polonaise in A Major by Wieniawski, and the Trio in B Major, Opus 8 by Brahms.
